Article 1 : The importance of pausing

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” Anne Lamott

Why do we always have to be busy? Why can’t we stop for a moment and reflect on what’s happening within us, rather than what’s happening around us? Appearance takes up too much space these days.
We live in a world that celebrates constant movement, the next goal, the next meeting, the next achievement. But in the rush to keep up, we often lose touch with ourselves. We become experts at doing and forget how to simply be.
A pause can feel countercultural, even uncomfortable. But it is in the pause that we find clarity. It is in the stillness that our truth has space to rise to the surface. Pausing is not giving up, it’s reconnecting. It allows us to check in with what matters, to breathe deeper, and to make space for what’s real beneath the surface.
I’ve come to believe that intentional pauses can be one of the most powerful tools we have. They can bring healing, presence, and even transformation. We just have to give ourselves permission to stop.
So, if you’re reading this and feeling the weight of “keeping up,” I invite you to pause even for a few minutes. Step away from the noise. Breathe. Feel. Listen.
